The Norumbega The Norumbega Inn is a distinguished landmark that sits atop a rise overlooking the Penobscot Bay in the picturesque coastal town of Camden, Maine.

It is on the National Historic Registry, having been built in 1886. This “stone castle by the sea,"/”the castle” is unique in design and structure from all other properties along the Maine Coast.

August comes to a close as we tip-toe towards Maine’s best season. Heated terrace dining will continue until it’s just too cold and then we’ll move inside—the restaurant and bar will stay open Sat-Tues 4:30-8 thru Nov 7 (with a few exceptions!), and online reservations open 30 days in advance. We’ll then take a mid-November break until our Thanksgiving price-fixe and the return of Bar+Bites plus Guest Chef Sat-night Pop-ups! We’ve got something cooking all year round—call us for more details or to inquire / reserve.

Last night was a beautiful evening for a wedding welcome party under the trees. Featuring thin crust wood-fired sourdough pies from Uproot Pie Co. The Uproot Pie Co. plus delicious gluten-free vegan sides and bar service by The Norumbega. A perfect evening set the tone for an intimate Norumbega wedding this afternoon.

We are currently conducting wedding site tours for 2028. All 2027 wedding weekends are fully reserved.

It’s been a glorious late July in Camden, and while the Inn is largely full, you can still spend a night in our intimate restaurant & bar (okkkk…we mean more like 1.75-2hrs 🫡😘).

Sat-Tuesday
4:30-8pm
Dining by reservation only (Resy or call us)

Walk-ins are welcome at the bar and if you happen to snag a seat there you can also dine. Other bar patrons have lots of lounge areas and seats on the lawn from which to enjoy beverages.

Like the intimacy of the Inn, our F&B team is small and therefore we limit the capacity of our dining rooms so as to ensure the best experience for you, rain or shine.

Deer Isle is a wonderful add-on to a Norumbega stay if you’re seeking a quiet, peaceful experience with incredible oceanside vistas, hikes and delicious food.

Aragosta on Goose Cove is a perfect homebase from which to explore the area, and Chef Devin Finigan’s resort restaurant is reason enough to visit.

Aragosta releases their room reservations in March every year and they go fast, so plan ahead and experience the best of Midcoast and Downeast Maine.
