The 1966 photo is captioned on the back “Mildred and guest standing outside of the office. June 1966”

Charles and Mildred Carr were the original owners of Rippling Waters Resort. Established 1950. I think one of my winter projects will be to track down a photo of each owner through the years. That would be amazing!

Let’s all just take a moment and appreciate all this photo has to offer. I don’t know the fisherman in the photo but I wish I did. I would love to hear all his stories about fishing the Niangua and staying at Rippling. I’d probably ask him where he got that shirt too!

Russ may get a little mad at me for posting this photo but it is so worth it. Just look how happy these three are. Another annual fall fishing trip in the books for the Rolla boys. They’ve been staying at Rippling for years and we look forward to spending time with them every October. There’s a lot of fishing, story telling, b**r drinking, cheering, singing and lots and lots of laughing. Andy and I are tired today (they are very persuasive with the booze and food and laughs) but our hearts are full and we are so grateful to have good times with them each year. Cheers, Rolla boys (that’s what we call you when you’re not around by the way). See you in 2027. 💙
