Nestled in the Palo Duro Canyon system just south of Amarillo, TX, Camp Don Harrington is a Boy Scouts of America camp with not only an amazing scenery to enjoy but outstanding facilities and programs offered on camp. The camp currently has 16 campsites with the addition of several remote "backpack training" camp areas that are works in progress at this time. The camp is a refuge to many differen
t types wildlife including deer, turkeys, raccoons, hawks, herons, owls, roadrunners, snakes and many different insects, just to name a few. Scouts and their families enjoy hiking, biking, and camping while enjoying the beauty of the wildlife and plant life here. Programming offerings are vast and include, but are not limited to: camping, hiking, COPE and climbing, canoeing, rowboats, fishing, swimming pool activities (swimming, lifesaving, snorkeling), shooting sports (rifle range, shotgun wobble stand, 5 stand, tournaments, and archery range), biking, Cub World (fort, teepees, castle, & pirate ship), general activity field, nature trail, chapel area and so much more! You will not want to visit our camp without crossing the swinging bridge and taking a picture with the iconic totem poles at the camp program area entrance. Facilities on camp include: Dining Hall (capacity 500 people), Medical lodge, Administration building (registration, trading post, training room, lounge), Campmaster Lodge & Cabin for Campmaster program, chapel pavilion, shooting sports pavilion, old trading post (original camp admin building), COPE pavilion, kybos throughout camp, centrally located bathhouse & restrooms, & pool showers at swimming pool.
