Fort Fisher State Recreation Area: No major public festivals or events are currently scheduled for the back half of June. The weekday guided Tree ID Hike originally slated for mid-month was cancelled due to local weather, leaving the park open primarily for standard beach-going, drive-on 4x4 access, and trail hiking for the rest of the month.

North Carolina 4th of July Festival Kickoff: Sunday, June 28

While the main parade and fireworks center around nearby Southport, the week-long festivities officially launch on June 28, bringing heavy visitor traffic and community events across the surrounding coastal areas leading into early July.

Cape Fear Blues Festival (Nearby Wilmington): Friday, June 19 – Sunday, June 21

Though centered in Wilmington, this major regional music festival draws crowd energy and features satellite live music sets and talent across the Cape Fear beach venues over the weekend.
