A big thank you to the Big Bam Route 66 Ride for asking us to be a water stop this morning!

It was such a joy to welcome all 124 bicyclists from states all across the country. We loved meeting you, hearing a few stories from the road, and watching Route 66 carry you on to your next adventure.

Safe travels, riders! Keep pedaling and keep chasing the road ahead!

Shout out to Mark for bringing his beautiful vintage bicycles for others to enjoy and for helping pass out water!

What a privilege it was to welcome author Diane Muldrow to the Boots Court Motel. ❤️

The Little Golden Books have been treasured by generations of children, and having her stay with us feels especially meaningful. We are so proud to have her book here at the Boots Court Motel & Carthage Visitor Center, where stories, history, and the spirit of Route 66 come together.

And now, what a special treasure to have a Route 66 story of her own, My Little Golden Book About Route 66!

Thank you, Diane, for staying with us, for creating a beautiful piece of Route 66 history, and for bringing your storytelling magic to the Mother Road.

How futuristic is this!?☀️

Last week here at the Boots Court Visitors Center, we had the honor of sending off 14 teams in the American Solar Challenge!! 🏁

What a neat experience it was to be a part of such a cool challenge. Teams of college students from all over the world design, build, and race their solar cars across the United States. 🏎️💙

There’s something so special about every hello and every visit. ❤️

In just one day, we had the pleasure of welcoming travelers from New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana, New Mexico, California, Texas, Colorado, Michigan, Nebraska, Arkansas, Mississippi, Arizona, North Dakota, Kentucky, Indiana, and Nevada!

Our international guests also reminded us how far the reach of Route 66 truly is, with visitors from Germany, Sweden, New Zealand, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.

Every handshake, every story, and every smile is a reminder of why we love what we do. Thank you for making Boots Court Motel & the Carthage Visitor Center a stop on your journey. Safe travels, and we’ll be here to welcome the next adventure!

🚗☀️ They're on the move!
As of just before 8:00 a.m., the live tracking map shows the American Solar Challenge teams making their way toward America's Maple Leaf City. Soon these incredible solar-powered vehicles will roll into Carthage, Missouri, a community uniquely positioned at the crossroads of Historic Route 66 and the Jefferson Highway, where innovation meets history.
We're excited to welcome students, engineers, and supporters from across the country as they experience all that Carthage has to offer, from our historic downtown and beautiful architecture to unique attractions, great local dining, and our unmatched community spirit.
Follow their journey https://tracking.americansolarchallenge.org/, then join us tonight (Wednesday, July 29) as the solar cars and teams are on display from 6:00–8:00 p.m. in downtown Carthage. This is a rare opportunity to see the future of transportation up close and meet the talented teams making it happen.
