Okay… you may sleep on a mattress, have AC, a full kitchen, bathroom, fridge, and Wi-Fi… BUT you’re still spending the day outside, getting fresh air, sitting around the campfire, exploring, enjoying nature, and making memories with the people you love. 🌲🔥🌞

You don’t have to sleep on the ground to enjoy the great outdoors! 😂

🚐 First-Time RV Tips - SAVE THIS POST BEFORE YOUR NEXT TRIP!

✨Practice driving before your trip
Find an empty parking lot and practice turning, backing up, and parking. Remember: your RV swings wider than your car.

✨Take your time backing in
Don’t be embarrassed to get out and look. Use a spotter when possible, and agree on hand signals beforehand.

✨Always check your clearance
Bridges, gas stations, tree limbs, parking decks, and drive-thrus can become VERY expensive mistakes. Know your RV’s height.

✨Don’t skip the pre-trip checklist
Before pulling away, check:
Power cord disconnected
Water hose disconnected
Sewer hose disconnected
Stabilizers/retractable jacks up
Awning in
Steps in
Slides fully retracted
Cabinets/doors secured
Hitch locked and safety chains attached

✨Don’t fill your freshwater tank unless you need to
Water is heavy. Carrying a full tank can add a surprising amount of weight and affect fuel economy/handling.

✨Learn your sewer system before you arrive
This is one of the biggest first-timer concerns! Generally, keep the black tank valve closed and dump it when the tank is sufficiently full. Follow your RV manufacturer’s instructions.

✨Use a sewer hose support
It helps maintain a downhill flow and makes dumping much easier.

✨Bring more than one hose
Have a dedicated freshwater hose and a separate sewer hose. Never mix them up.

✨Get a surge protector
Campground electrical hookups can have electrical problems. A quality RV surge protector/EMS can protect your electrical system.
