Our hearts are with the Cumbres & Toltec railroad crews and the Chama community as everyone navigates an unusually dry start to the season, causing the difficult decision to delay the train’s opening weekend to June 9.

In the meantime, Chama remains beautiful, peaceful, and open for visitors looking for fresh mountain air and a slower pace. A rare chance to experience northern New Mexico without the train crowds.

We’ve decided to extend our opening rates through June 8!! Take advantage of this beautiful time of year while enjoying quiet mornings, open roads, scenic mountain views, and the charm of Chama before peak season arrives.

Local shops and restaurants are open, and so are the wide open spaces.
