This piano has traveled a long way to get here. 🎹

It’s a Steinway, built in Hamburg, Germany in 1901, originally made for Harrods in London.

Somehow it found its way to Chambersburg, where it arrived as a birthday gift from a previous owner of the inn to his wife. 🤍

Today it fills the house with music during concerts, recitals, and whenever a guest sits down to play.

We’re still uncovering its full story. But one thing we know for sure: it’s meant to be played.

🌿 Then we walk the inn, inside and out, exploring spaces for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception

The sun isn’t even up yet, but breakfast for 20 is already underway. 🌧️☕

Two seatings this morning: 6 guests at 8:00 and 14 at 9:00. On the menu:

🍞 French toast topped with fresh strawberries and blueberries
🥚 Boiled farm fresh eggs from a local farmer (a healthy option alongside the sweet stuff)
🍓 Fruit parfaits
🥓 Maple sausage from a local butcher, made with pork raised by friends of ours

It’s a slow, rainy morning, but after the beautiful week we’ve had, we’ll take it.

Now it’s time to get dressed and get everything on the table by 8. See you at breakfast! 🤍

It’s late at the inn. The house is dark, quiet, and our three story stairwell is so tall you can’t even see the ceiling. 🌙

So we tried something. A little aurora borealis light, borrowed from the kids’ room, projecting the northern lights all the way up the stairwell. 🌌

Now we need your help deciding.

Keep it for guests to enjoy at night? Or leave the stairwell classic?

I was mesmerized by the fact that the steam above my coffee is always there, but I normally can’t see it. On the random occasion that the sun is shining in, I’m suddenly enlightened to the fact that something exists that is always there that I do not see.
