Join us for the 2026 Jim Gariepy Memorial Single Fly Fishing Tournament & Fly Fishing 101 Clinic on June 6–7!

This weekend honors Jim Gariepy, former President of the Deerfield River Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Jim was an avid fly fisher, paddler, and skier who helped lead the Single Fly event for several years. In 2018, the chapter renamed the event in his memory. In that same spirit, the weekend is meant to be about fly fishing, learning, conservation, and camaraderie as much as competition.

Saturday, June 6
Fly Fishing 101 Clinic
Location: Zoar Outdoor, 7 Main Street, Charlemont, MA

This is a great opportunity for new anglers to learn the basics of fly fishing in a welcoming, hands-on setting. Instruction will cover prepping, casting, reading water and safe wading, and fly presentation, with on-the-water mentor sessions in the afternoon.

Participants who register for the skills clinic will receive a starter pack of flies and a raffle ticket for a future guided instruction day.

Sunday, June 7
Single Fly Tournament
Location: Zoar Picnic Area, Rowe, MA

A one-day catch and release tournament where anglers fish with three copies of one chosen fly pattern and hook size. Awards are based on total inches of trout. All waters within the Deerfield River Watershed are open for the competition.

Registration options:
Fly Fishing 101 only: $25
Single Fly, TU Member: $30
Single Fly, Non-TU Member: $40
Fly Fishing 101 + Single Fly: $35

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: If you are planning to book the Entire Campground for a weekend this season, we strongly recommend you secure your reservation before the end of April!!!

Due to the high demand for Entire Campground bookings on weekends, reservations made now through April 30th are restricted exclusively to Entire Campground rentals. Starting on May 1st, we will open all remaining weekend dates to single site reservations, and only a limited number of weekends remain for entire campground bookings.

Below are the remaining available weekends if you are interested in booking the Entire Campground this season:

May: 8-10, 29–31

July: 3–5, 10–12

September: 25–27

October: 2–4, 9–11, 16–18
