Akachan kai at my home in March. We had asagohan with my organic frittata and fresh fruit, a class about healthy food and I introduced two American vegetables that the women had not yet tasted: artichoke and Jerusalem artichoke. It was so fun. Hope to do it again soon..........

I was invited to a family Japanese New Year celebration in Cville a few weeks ago. It was so fun! Children are so adorable, games were fun and I got to meet some of the new famillies who moved to Cville from Japan because of their work at UVA......

She is a bad joke talking about how she is helping women in the workplace. I'm glad to hear Japanese women also recognize this and did not show for her talk.

Autumn in Charlottesville- pumpkin 🎃 and sweet potato 🍠 (IMO) time. Pumpkin display at Whole Foods; At my friends’ Nahoko’s and Shige’s organic farm digging up sweet potatoes and enjoying the beautiful Fall sun and blue skies! 🎃🤗

a taste of 3 events in Cville today - the 3 I chose to visit - first the Repair shop at Habitat; then the Cville Pride Festival at the Pavilion on the Downtown Mall; and last my friends' Nahoko and Shige's organic farm in Gordonsville where we heard a Taiko concert; dug IMO [and their greens - which are also OISHI]; and children played games. The traditional Fall event is to go to a farm and dig sweet potatoes - the way Americans go to a pumpkin farm I guess. Enjoy! In the middle you will see a sign in the parklng lot right off the Mall that says no guns are allowed in that lot.....this is very new and occurred after the Cville White N**i "Rally in August.......sigh!!
