The eagles, waves, and florals adorning the exterior of our building were designed in 1927 by architect R.H. Hunt to represent growth and expansion. 🦅🌼

That was not a small idea for a bank building in downtown Chattanooga.

One hundred years later the building is still standing and still growing into what it was meant to become: The Waymark.

736 Broad Street was abandoned for decades. The marble was hidden under concrete. The ceilings R.H. Hunt designed were covered and crumbling. The bones were still beautiful, just buried under time and neglect. HK Architects saw what was underneath. They didn't erase what came before. They restored it. Every original detail honored. Every intention Hunt poured into this building brought back to life. This is what respect for architecture looks like.
