We love our town movie theater 💕 Please stop by and see and show soon. Let’s show The Gentry Cinema some love!

“How’s the theater doing?”

This is one of the most common questions we get asked. We know that the people who have been to The Gentry love it and want to see it thrive. It feels good knowing the place means so much to so many.

That said, we want to be honest about the numbers. An average of 20-25% capacity each weekend keeps the lights on and movies running and maybe even lets us fix stuff when it breaks. But recently, we've been seeing weekends with as low as 4% capacity.

Now, we know gas prices and grocery prices have gone way up. We also know that kids sports and other activities have many families running multiple directions every weekend. And we know a night out at the movies is a luxury that quickly gets cut when time and money are tight.

We have some great movies coming in October and November, and we would love to see you at the movies! If coming to a movie isn't an option for you, we have lots of other ways to support The Gentry, including some no-cost actions that still make an impact. We appreciate your support!!

Proud of our community 💕 Such a great back to school event!

We are so proud to be part of a community that supports its kids!

Local barbers and cosmetologists are donating their time and skills for their 3rd Annual Free Back to School Cuts!

Families can enjoy food while they wait, and students can receive supplies after their haircut.

Big shoutout to The Taco Bandit for being the star during our family reunion this weekend! Wow, we loved it! Veronica and her team made the big gathering so easy and wonderful. We cannot recommend them enough for events. You can also grab food from their spot in Checotah!

We highly recommend The Taco Bandit for your next event! Their truck came for our family reunion last night and made the event wonderful and easy! Veronica and her team and so great and we are glad they’re in the community 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Fun weekend ahead in downtown Checotah!

This Saturday, Checotah celebrates 60 years of Old Settlers Day!
Over 50 vendors, food, games, kids activities, a parade, rodeo, live music, fireworks, and neighbors from all across Oklahoma coming together in downtown Checotah.
Bring your family. Bring your lawn chairs. Bring your appetite.
Let's make this the biggest Old Settlers Day, and one to remember.
