Is Watson's Resort the best deal on Lake Chelan for rentals? We feel that it is.

There are much nicer units to rent on the lake but you pay for them dearly. I was just scanning home rentals that are rented out on the waterfront. The highest percent of these you can expect to may $1,000 per night and up. That is $7,000 per week or more. And some as much as $3,500 or even more. These you are looking at $10,000 plus for a week. Just keep this in mind.

As you can see in the photo, at Watson's you don't just get a lawn with your unit, we have acres of lawn area. We are on the Lake and have beautiful views. We have sandy beaches. A pool and a hot tub. We have moorage for your boats and jet ski's. We have wonderful long evenings after the sun goes down. There are just so many things besides our prices that makes Watson's Resort you go to place when it comes to renting a unit on Lake Chelan.

Our units are all two and three bedroom units that will sleep from six persons to ten persons figuring kids into the mix. All units have one or two bathrooms. All units have full kitchens. All units have great views of the lake. All this and more wrapped up into a quiet low keyed setting with acres of lawn and hundreds of feet of water front and all this sitting on the largest privately owned waterfront property on Lake Chelan.

We will be sending out early reservation forms to all those who are in good standing and stayed with us in 2026. You should get them just prior or shortly after Thanksgiving. Remember to return them to us by the stated dates. This is just our small way (but big to you) of saying thank you for being a past guest.

We are also working on a online reservation system for the 2027 season. We hope to have this up and running by Jan. 2nd, 2027 which is when we start taking reservations from the general public. We will need a deposit to hold and we will need the last page of our rental agreement signed and returned.

Between the drift in the lake and the fires and smoke, 2026 for sure had its down side but we are looking forward to a good and better summer season in 2027.

Dear Lease Tenants.

The resort is closed. Remember to double check everything for the winter. Is your water winterized to your unit? We do the cabins but the tenants does their own trailer or mobile home. Make sure your outside water feed is ready for winter. If that freezes and breaks during the winter, we would have to do a complete water shutdown to our system and you would be financially responsible for these repairs. And this is not a good time of year to do such repairs. Make sure you do not leave anything in your unit that could freeze and make a mess. For example: Water, pop and other liquids, etc. Make sure your roof and clean to avoid roof leaks. This you may want to check in a month or so as leafs are still in the process of dropping and falling.

Little Giant Fire contained. Another monster fire in the books. Chelan County's larger fire on record. These are the records I do not like to see broken.

Good News! More Forest Areas Reopen After the Little Giant Fire

UPDATE: The Pole Ridge area on the Wenatchee River Ranger District is also open.

We are happy to announce that as of yesterday, October 14, the updated Little Giant Fire Closure Order Superseding 06-17-07-2026-46 reduces this closure area, as precipitation has moderated fire behavior and more of the repair work to roads and dozer and handlines has been completed.

This provides more access to areas in Chelan County, including Slide Ridge near Chelan, Mud and Potato Creeks, Mad River and Grouse Mountain in the Entiat. Areas in the Wenatchee River Ranger District that are now open include Second and Van Creeks and the White River drainage, and other popular hunting and recreation areas.

No areas within the revised Little Giant fire perimeter are open to public access due to hazards such as burned trees, holes due to burned roots below the ground surface, unstable slopes and the potential for debris flows. Crews are still working within the remaining area closure order to patrol areas of smoldering fire, finish fire repair work and backhaul equipment no longer needed across a 270-square-mile fire footprint.

Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) work will be ongoing as well to address immediate risks to life, safety, property and critical natural resources to inform emergency actions and responders. This work is especially important in the Entiat drainage. Please help keep crews safe and expediate this work by staying out of these areas. I have always had a Ford 4600 for our hillside orchard and for mowing and they are a great tractor but our old one is about at the end of its life. I am looking for another good used Ford 4600 with low profile set up. If anyone knows of one, please let me know. They are a great tractor and work horse. [email protected]

Watson's Resort is now closed for the season. We will open things back up on April 15th, 2027. We thank our lease tenants and rental guests for 2026. Some of this past season was great and some of it not so great. But we are proud to have celebrated our 111th year in the resort business. Looking forward to 112.

What a wonderful place to work on this Sunday morning. Its not church but it sure makes one a believer. Kind of chilly start at 7:30. It was 36 at home and there was frost on the ground up here. But boy is it dusty. We so need some rain but not seeing anything in the forecast in the up coming days. We should get this project wrapped up tomorrow. It's noon and this old man is done for the day.
