JCO is a 22-acre fishing lake, within family owned and operated, 84 acre nature park. All Guests MUST have Reservations. All Guests Must Have Reservations.

Reservations available for Unique Cabins, RV and Tent Sites spread-out around the lake. Please call for an appointment to check out. JCO (Juniper Creek Outfitters) family owned and operated, 22acre lake, in Chinquapin, NC. Fed by creek and swamp, 2 smaller ponds and acres of fields and woods. Tent and RV Camping, Fishing, Kayaking, A-Frame Cabin, Floating Cabin and unique stays, youth campouts, community events, and more! All boats, and fishing must abide by NC Wildlife regulations. We offer fishing passes (non-campers) online 7 days a week! (Message us for more information) Catch and Release ONLY. We offer worms, drinks, basic tackle, fishing poles, JCO merchandise and more. We offer weekend rentals on kayaks, canoes, a paddle boat, or a Jon boat by the hour or daily (Reservation only). Some availability may vary.

🎃 Halloween is behind us… who’s ready to trade those candy buckets for fishing poles?! 🎣🎁

Our Toys for Tots - JCO Crappie Fishing Tournament is November 14th! Join us for friendly competition, cash prizes, and a chance to help make Christmas brighter for children!

🎣 Entry: $25 + a new, unwrapped toy
💵 Compete for cash prizes!
🥣 Crappie chowder, chili, and cheeseburger chowder will be available afterward!
🛶15 boat/kayak limit. 1 or 2 person teams.

You’ll also be helping us care for the lake! This is a catch-and-keep tournament for crappie that meet the size requirements. Smaller crappie will be relocated to other waters on our property, outside the main lake.

Why does this matter? Crappie can multiply quickly, leading to overcrowding and more competition for food. Reducing their numbers helps the remaining fish have more food available to grow and stay healthy. It’s part of our effort to keep the lake balanced as we head toward the spring spawning season! 🌱🐟

What a morning we’ve had at JCO Campground! 🦇🎃

Our Carolina Critters Little Explorer Class with Flora and Fauna Festivities was a hit! We had a huge group of little explorers learning all about bats through bat yoga, a scavenger hunt, pretending to be bats searching for food, experiment tables, stories, snacks, and more!

Of course, Tail the camp cat found herself right in the middle of it all—getting cuddles and being the center of attention throughout class, whether she liked it or not! 🐈😂

The fall fun continued with pumpkin carving at campsites all around the lake and at the office. Our office pumpkin was a group effort! 🧡

🍬 In the area tonight? Stop by the campground office from 5–7 p.m. for a special trick-or-treat surprise! We’d love to see your little ghosts and goblins!

A morning full of learning, a lake full of pumpkins, and more sweet memories to make tonight! 👻

POV: It’s 2023. You’re pregnant, abandoned, and trying to figure out who you can trust. You find your way to a little campground office, where a three-year-old boy helps you feel safe and loved again. 🥹🐾

Fast forward… I’m living my best life, waiting to greet my next cabin guests!

Yes, I know the cabin isn’t pet-friendly. But I’m staff now. 💁‍♀️ My job includes welcoming guests, supervising porch time, and accepting all the attention you’re willing to give.

So many of you spoil me and ask about me when you come back. From an unwanted stray to someone you look forward to seeing… that’s a pretty sweet life. ❤️

🏕️ A little fall camping is calling! No rain expected and great temperatures!

We have 1 RV site with 30-amp service and 2 RV sites with 50-amp service available, plus tent sites for the whole weekend or just one night!

The weather is beautiful for campfires, fishing, stargazing, and simply slowing down. Bring your favorite people, bring the kids bikes, rent a kayak, pull up a camp chair, and enjoy some time by the water. 🔥🎣✨Don't forget to ask about our nature scavenger hunts! Grab one in the office.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Halloween Bash and braved the nasty weather to join us! 🧡 We appreciate every family, camper, and helping hand who made it special!

Now we’re looking forward to a slower kind of fall weekend at JCO. 🍂🏕️

Think coffee by the lake, a little fishing, and nowhere you have to be. Ride over to Mike’s Farm, pick out a pumpkin, and bring it back to carve at your campsite. You can even leave your pumpkin with us afterward for the animals to enjoy!

Spend the evening around a crackling campfire, roast a few marshmallows, and trade the busy schedule for a sky full of stars.

🎃 A lot of rain, a late start, and a whole lot of Halloween fun!

The rain and setup put us a little behind, but we’re so thankful for everyone who came out and spent the evening with us! 🧡

There was plenty of great food, and Grounds for Adventure’s hot drinks were a hit on a chilly night! ☕ We loved seeing marshmallows toasting, kids running around and playing games, and everyone enjoying time together.

A big thank-you to our campers and volunteers who helped make our Halloween Bash happen rain or shine!
