Don't miss the Sturgeon Moon and partial lunar eclipse! 🐟🌒

The full moon will reach its peak on Friday (August 28) at 12:18 A.M. However, a partial lunar eclipse is also expected to occur beginning at 9:23 P.M. on Thursday (August 27)! During this time, dark shadows and/or red glow may be visible on the moon's surface.

While peak illumination may be obscured by the partial eclipse, the moon should appear full and bright in the night(s) before and after, conditions permitting!

It is definitely a black bear sort of year in Cook Forest! This mama has four cubs. Always keep your distance! This is their home so give them space. They will move on when they are ready. She is just beautiful though.

On to the business of the day! PFDs are recommended since the flow is still up. Here are the daily stats:

Current Depth: 3.79'
Flow: 1,260 cfs
Morning Water Temp: 60
Minimum Age: 2 years old

We open at 9 am and will run these trips all day UNTIL the following times:

12 pm: 10-mile Canoe or Kayak
2 pm: 4-mile 6-person River Raft or Tube
3 pm: 2.5-mile Inner Tube
4 pm: 4-mile Canoe or Kayak

All equipment is first come first serve. We do not make reservations. All equipment must be returned to the dock by 6 pm.

If you are coming with a group, please sign up together so you are in the same van. If you sign up at different times, we cannot guarantee that you will go upriver at the same time.

We do not allow trailers on weekends and holidays. Be sure to check out our website for more transport information.

Herb & Fiber Festival: Saturday, June 6th 9-4, Sunday, June 7th 10-3. Our Soup Luncheon is Saturday, June 6th 11:30-2, or when sold out. This is one of our signature events packed with vendors selling herbs, perennials, annuals, flowering plants, garden art and fiber goods. Our Craft Market is open Saturday 10-5, Sunday 10-4.

Looks like a beautiful weekend ahead whether you want to hit the trails or paddle the river! Here are the cabins we currently have available for a 2 night minimum:

Cabin 10 - Sleeps up to 4
Cabin 14 - Sleeps up to 6

Good morning Pale Whalers! Closed today due for safety reasons. Conditions are very poor. We will re-evaluate tomorrow morning.

In the meantime, there is lots to see and do in Cook Forest. This big guy was spotted just yesterday not far from us. It's a good day to hit the local shops, play a board game in front of your cabin fire, or just go for a drive around the forest or up River Road. You never know what you might see! Enjoy your day and stay safe!
