No fluff. No recycled compliance lectures.

If you’re still teaching infection prevention as a checklist exercise, your students & future patients deserve better.

Great evening speaking with an amazing group of dental hygienists about protecting their licenses, understanding what Dental Board Inspectors look for during inspections, & maintaining safe dental waterlines to deliver the safest patient experience possible 🦷💧

These conversations matter because safer systems protect patients, teams, and careers 🙌

Huge thank you to (Baltimore Orthodontic Group) for hosting such a great gift seminar and to for being an incredible corporate sponsor đź’™

If an inspection happened tomorrow… would your office be ready? 👀

Most dental offices think they’re compliant but small things often get overlooked until they’re pointed out during an inspection.

From OSHA protocols to HIPAA gaps, it’s usually not the big issues it’s the little details that add up. ⚠️

Taking the time to review and fix those areas now can save a lot of stress later. âś…

🦷 We focus so much on PPE, sterilization, and protocols…but the most powerful infection control tool is still the simplest one:

👉 Hand hygiene

According to the CDC, it’s the #1 way to prevent the spread of infection in healthcare settings including dentistry.

And yet…

📊 Healthcare providers only perform hand hygiene about 40% of the times they should.

🚻 And yes….it’s NOT consistently done even after using the restroom.

Let that sink in. 🤮

Why this matters in dental settings:

Every patient interaction involves exposure to:
• Saliva
• Blood
• Contaminated surfaces

Skipping hand hygiene even once increases the risk of cross-contamination.

What proper hand hygiene actually looks like:

âś” Before and after every patient
âś” After contact with bodily fluids or surfaces
âś” After removing gloves (they are NOT a substitute)
âś” Soap & water when visibly soiled, sanitizer for routine use

This isn’t about adding more to your workflow. It’s about doing the one thing that makes the biggest difference consistently.
