Ok I am just curious for the thoughts and perspectives from folks I know that follow my properties page or know me.....
I own and self manage ( with a fabulous team of folks for cleaning and overseeing the properties for guest services-- I personally approve or deny each booking based on set rules for safety, and communicate with guests at booking, prior to their stay and during to make sure there are no issues, concerns or questions...
I’m genuinely confused… when did vacation rental checkout instructions become such a controversy? 😂
Does your rental not have a dishwasher? Is there not a trash receptacle ( bear proof as needed as is the case at my properties...
Are you being asked to mow the grass, check the mail, or clean the entire property before leaving? 🤷♀️
There’s a BIG difference between asking guests to be respectful of a property and expecting them to do the cleaning company’s job.
My check out instructions are very simple and I feel what you would expect any guest in your home to do if they stayed in your absence....
Start the dishwasher when you leave with any dirty dishes..... remove all of your food and essentials and take the trash out in provided trash bags to the provided bear proof can on site and literally a few steps from where you park, and place any dirty or used bath or kitchen linens in the shower.... that's it....
I don't want anyone other than my team stripping beds or doing laundry for check out so nothing is missed or placed in the wrong bedroom, etc...
I do have house rules that are on airbnb sites, and are non negotiable for safety reasons and what is expected as far as number of occupants, parking locations per property etc ...
