Watched rocket 13 go off this morning to the space station. When we first started watching nearly 30 years ago the whole street turned out and cheered.
Now it’s so common there was only me out there!!
Still amazing to watch from your front garden.

Another first….
I wanted to ride in the cable cars at Disney - Skyliner.
I enquired at guest Services as we had no park tickets or restaurant reservations.
Park at Hollywood Studios - $35
Either walk or take the tram to the entrance.
Skyliner is on the right.
It’s made up of 3 lines all converging at the Caribbean Resort. All free.
We had great fun riding all 3 and got off at Epcot and walked along the boardwalk to the Disney Yacht resort for drinks and ice cream.
Well worth the price of a park ticket.

Our usual trip up to Lake Louisa this morning.
Collected donuts and coffee first.
Found a rather bedraggled peacock which I think strayed from somewhere!!
Didn’t stay long though because the love bugs are particularly prolific this year.
Did you know the love bugs mate on flight for up to 12 hours😱and then the male dies of exhaust🤣
However the female still carries her dead mate for up to 2 days until she lays her eggs (150-600 😱) and then she dies.
Not sure if it’s a happy or sad life but either way they need to stop landing on me!!!!

Old Town Kissimmee has been sold…
For £24.5 million 😱
The couple who bought it say they are not going to change it.
Just paint and new shops.
I do hope they leave the classic and muscle car cruisers alone 🤞🤞🤞🤞
The old saying…”if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” comes to mind.
We had a fabulous evening there last night. Looked at the cars, dinner right by the music stage and then managed to find a bench to sit on before the cars paraded around. 212 vehicles last night. Best one ever.

Another first for us.
Apopka Wildlife Drive.
An 11 mile dirt track with a maximum speed of 10mph through the natural Florida scenery.
We saw alligators, a turtle, lots of different birds and lovely flowers, greenery and lakes.
Beautiful.
45 minute drive there and 2 hours to drive round!!
NB it’s only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and it’s free.

We needed to go up to Winter Park today so decided to make a day of it.
A new first for us. We did the scenic boat tour around the lakes. A nice hour seeing all the mega houses and be entertained with both history and gossip!
Then lunch - absolutely memorable for all the right reasons. The food was amazing and the cherry margaritas…. Heavenly.
Highly recommend.
Then an amble through the park before heading home for a dip in the pool.

Earlier this year one of our lovely guests contacted me saying they had accidentally put the Lakeridge Winery plastic glasses in the dishwasher.
They wanted to know how to replace them.
I told them not to worry, they are free with w**e at the w**ery and I was happy to go back and buy more w**e at their weekend music events!!
So today we did just that.
Unfortunately the music was cut short due to threat of thunder.
But not before we had a drink and food!!
They’ve introduced a farmers market on Saturdays now too but we had to clear out before I took photos.
As designated driver I only had one glass of w**e so I need support from Helen George, John Fox, Steve and Carol Bartlett to help replace more glasses!!!!

It’s good to be back in Florida.
New furniture has been delivered for the master bedroom, including a full length mirror which I’ve been meaning to get for years!!
The mattress in wonderful and very comfortable.
Interestingly (or not) it’s called a Chesterfield mattress. My childhood home in Derbyshire!
