Clifford House is without doubt the best bed and breakfast we have ever had the good fortune to stay at. We stayed in the Madison Apartment, which is as advertised and better. It truly does feel like you are in your own separate abode. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and utensils, and the queen bed upstairs is comfortable (note: it is on the firm side).
Jim, our host, is witty, charming, and makes an excellent breakfast. We enjoyed a magnificent omelet, breakfast potatoes, fresh fruit, and a variety of pastries, many made by Jim's own hand.
Let's not overlook the neighborhood. There are several excellent restaurants nearby: we had dinner at Le Petite Triangle, and brunch at Heck's, both in easy walking distance. Also in walking distance is Dave's, a full service supermarket.
If you are visiting Cleveland, you will find no finer bed and breakfast than Clifford House. We will certainly be returning to this absolute gem to again enjoy Jim's peerless hospitality.
