The Coal City Area Recreation Club #1 is a private non-profit organization that has been the focal point of recreation in the Coal City Area since the early 60’s. The 1480 acre club was established from abandoned strip mines that were active in the early 1900s until the 1950s.

Join us next Monday, June 29, from 7:30–8:30 PM at Ski Beach for a relaxing evening of yoga under the Strawberry Full Moon.

🎣 What an incredible turnout at yesterday’s Fishing Derby! We had 85 kids participate, and the fish were biting all morning long.

We hope everyone had a great time making memories at the club. A huge thank you goes out to our board members, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make this event possible. It takes a lot of time and effort behind the scenes to keep this tradition alive, and we’re so grateful for everyone who pitches in year after year.

🎣 Reminder! The Kids Fishing Derby is tomorrow morning from 8:00–11:00 AM at the Catfish Pit!

The weather is looking perfect, and the pond is fully stocked with 300 pounds of catfish.

We’ll have 15 prizes up for grabs, and lunch will be provided.

No registration required—just bring your fishing gear, a chair, and the family for a fun morning!
