We had the best time with our friend Mike Baker during his visit to the lodge. He even donned an apron and helped out in our restaurant. This was cowboy camaraderie and cooking at its best. Thanks Mike Baker! You are welcome back anytime!!

It's that time of year again! We are putting together a great team of employees looking to have a unique and unforgettable Summer of 2018.
We are currently seeking Wranglers and Cabin Cleaners/Servers. All of our employees live onsite, and we provide all meals along with a salary and tips. Employees are needed from mid-May until late August, but if you can stay until early September that is a huge plus! Bringing your own vehicle is a must, so you have the freedom to enjoy the beautiful surroundings our area has to offer during your time off.

Thank you to all our guests, friends and valued employees for making our 2017 season another great one for Kerry and I here at Absaroka Mountain Lodge. We will begin taking reservations, (online or by phone,) for our 2018 season on November 1st. Opening day will be May 25th, 2018 and closing day will be September 7th, 2018. For those of you who have never been to our area, we have some exciting news: We will be adding a 360 degree virtual tour of our property very soon to our website. This will give you an opportunity to view our little slice of paradise from the comfort of your home. If you are looking for a more traditional, back to nature and classic way to spend your summer vacation, we ask that you consider our tiny corner of Wyoming. We wish you all much health, happiness and peace of mind in the upcoming year!!

It was a beautiful day for the eclipse at Absaroka Mountain Lodge! An eerie glow enveloped our canyon, and the temperature dropped to 47 degrees. As the sun was emerging again, it cast these incredible shadows on the ground. Pretty amazing!

On August 21, 2017, most of the mainland of the United States will get the rare opportunity to view a total solar eclipse. This happens during the daytime when the Earth and Sun are in direct alignment, with the moon passing in between. The moon's passing will completely block out the sun for a short time. This hasn't happened in the U.S. since 1979. (I still remember seeing its image through a telescope as a tween at middle school in my hometown of Akron, Iowa.) My, how time flies! The eclipse will be at 98% totality in the Cody area. What better way to have this memorable experience than in a beautiful mountain setting with your family or loved ones? So grab your protective eyewear and head out for this uncommon occasion. Who knows when we'll get this chance again? Let's make the most of it!!

Hello Everyone!

We have been very busy gearing up for our 2017 season. ( It is going to be a great one!) In addition to the renovation of a new cabin that sleeps 8 called The Bunkhouse, we are also very excited to be adding Guided Hikes to our activities at the Lodge this summer. We will even be offering an evening cookout hike! (Details will follow soon.)

We want to thank all of our guests and employees for making our 2016 season one of our best ever! We are going into our 13th summer as owners of Absaroka Mountain Lodge, and we would love to see you in 2017!
