Love is in the air... Literally🐞

Campers, it's that time of the year again. The temperatures are rising and so is the number of Lovebugs around Southeast Texas.

Lovebugs typically make their appearance twice a year, often in large swarms, but there is no need to worry. Lovebugs don't bite or sting!

Camp with caution... and maybe keep a windshield scraper handy!

See you outdoors💙

Beginning Monday, July 20, the Wolf Creek Park boat ramp will be closed to all use until further notice as dredging work gets underway.

As many of you know, the boat ramp has experienced limited access since severe storms in 2024. Earlier this year, we shared that we were seeking a contractor to complete dredging, and we're pleased to announce this important restoration work is now moving forward.

The closure is expected to remain in place for at least the remainder of the 2026 season while work is completed. We understand this may be an inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience as we make these improvements to restore safe, reliable access for boaters in the future.

We will share updates as work progresses and when a reopening timeline becomes available. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

⚠️ Boat ramp update: Because of sediment buildup, the boat ramp will be closed to full-size boats for the 2026 season. Kayaks and smaller boats may still be able to use the ramp, depending on conditions and at your own discretion. TRA is planning to dredge the channel and work on a long-term fix, with the goal of fully reopening in 2027.
