A work of art can open the eyes of the mind and heart. Perhaps sometimes, before a sculpture, a painting, a few verses of a poem or a song, you have experienced deep within an intimate emotion, a sense of joy, that is to have clearly perceived that in front of you there was not only matter, a piece of marble or bronze, a painted canvas, a series of letters or a combination of sounds, but something bigger, something that speaks, capable of touching the heart, of communicating a message; elevating the soul.”
- Pope Benedict XVI

St Monica St George Parish is unreal and one of my favorite churches to photograph. What do you mean University of Cincinnati gets to call this their university parish?? Featuring the beautiful Our Lady of Guadalupe mural Sophia painted that lives next door in the student center.

I thought it would be fun to share a glimpse into everything I pack for a wedding day (and believe me, there’s even more than what’s pictured here).

I recently switched to the Spider Holster and yes I was heavily influenced by The Vendor Table. So far it is working well for me and my Canon R6 Mark IIs!

In addition to my holster, I rock Be A Heart | Sharing the Hope & Light of Christ Marian f***y pack which carries back up batteries, sd cards and a phone holder if I want to capture some behind the scenes (which I usually forget to do).

As a Catholic wedding photographer my flashes don’t see much use until family photos and the reception but I’ve been loving this new set up. My bigger flashes as off camera flash with MagMod modifiers as needed and my on camera flashes are the adorable Godox USA iT32 which mainly act as filler.

In my (not pictured) backpack, I have all my charging accessories should I need them. I love the Tri charger the wonderful folks at Midwest Photo - Columbus Ohio recommended - it holds charge and doesn’t need plugged in if you can’t find an outlet in a pinch. (I also tuck my business cards into most of my bags in case anything gets separated from me.)

In case of emergency kit has been added as time goes on - everything from tissues and Tylenol to deodorant and a lint roller.

I utilize a roller bag - one from ThinkTankPhoto airport line and it’s been a game changer. I have all my lens caps labeled because I’m a mess and need the help. My go to ceremony lenses are my 70-200 mm and 50mm (24-70mm when I want those wide shots).

My uniform is usually all black that I accent with a bow. My summer shoes have been Reef sandals. I love wearing my name tag with my logo and I use my Apple Watch to keep track of the timeline for the day by putting the timeline into my calendar.

Just a little look into all the gear that goes into a wedding day with Anna Lincoln Photography!

When I started out photographing weddings, I thought I would be someone who brought a big tackle box full of flat lay supplies with me. It turns out I much prefer using the environment I am in and setting up the photos to be more reflective of my couple. So here are a few places I have set up detail shots that were unique to my couples and their day - the Newman center library, the rainy window, the luggage cart, the concrete pillars outside the church.

When I first started out photographing weddings, I bought a big tackle box and imagined I would fill it with all sorts of supplies for curated detail shots. It turns out I much prefer taking in my surroundings and highlighting the aspects that are unique to my couple and their day. So here are a few places I have utilized to capture details: the Newman center bookshelves, a boutique hotel luggage rack, the rainy day window shades, the concrete pillars outside of the church.

Indigo Lake in Cuyahoga Valley National Forest was a beautiful backdrop that held special meaning to Bridget. And the train made a quick stop and even asked if there was a better spot they could move to for the best bridal party photos! (The last photo is one of the reasons I tend to recommend utilizing group transport - the parking lot we arrived at was packed and we may have had a wandering groomsman or two that held things up for a little bit. 😅)
