The Florida Keys are a popular fishing destination with many different types of fish to catch, including:

Tarpon
In the spring, thousands of tarpon migrate through the Florida Keys from the Atlantic and Gulf, making it a top destination for tarpon fishing. You can catch them using bait, fly, or artificial.

Sailfish
The middle Keys and the waters around Islamorada are good places to find sailfish, which can be seen along the Florida Reef as close as 4 miles from shore.

Bonefish
Bonefish are often found in small schools or pairs, and can be a good option when tarpon and permit aren't biting. They are considered wary gamefish, so patience and accuracy are important for catching them.

Snapper
Yellowtail snapper, red snapper, and mutton snapper are popular deep-sea fishing targets in the Florida Keys, and are known for their taste.

Grouper
Grouper can grow to be over 8 feet long and weigh more than 800 pounds, making them a challenging catch for even experienced fishers.

Swordfish
The Florida Keys are a good starting point for deep sea fishing for swordfish, which prefer deeper waters.

Barracuda
Barracuda can be found stalking small baitfish in shallow water flats, and are considered an exciting and aggressive catch on light tackle spinning rods.
