For those making uninformed assumptions or spreading negative comments, here are the facts.

All we have ever asked for is the same right every other landowner in St. Louis County already has under the ordinance: the ability to invite guests onto our property to camp for free. In our case, those guests happen to be disabled veterans.

It is St. Louis County—not us—that has taken the position that because our guests are disabled veterans, they are prohibited from camping on our property. That is the issue now before the federal court.

We have never used disabled veterans as a way to gain special treatment or obtain rights that others do not have. We are simply asking to be treated the same as every other landowner under the ordinance.

The federal judge will soon interpret the ordinance and determine what it actually allows. We are confident the law, not misinformation or assumptions, will provide the answer.
