🐾 RONA REPORTS #3: THE GREAT ACORN INVASION! 🍂

Good morning, humans!

Rona here, Director of Everything at The Cabins at Copperhill.

I need to report a situation.

Apparently, the trees around here have decided to dump approximately ELEVENTY BILLION leaves and acorns all over MY property.

Management seems concerned about cleaning them up.

Personally, I don't see the problem.

The leaves are excellent for running through, hiding things in, and making as much noise as possible.

And the acorns? Well, those are entertainment!

I pick one up, toss it, watch it roll down the hill, chase it, and occasionally eat it. (Management doesn't approve of that last part.)

Meanwhile, Lesa and Everett are out there trying to clean everything up.

Bless their hearts.

They clearly don't understand that I'm going to need all those acorns put right back where I found them.

After all, a Mountain Feist has to stay busy.

THE NIGHT I WAS MISTAKEN FOR SOMEBODY'S WIFE

Rona here.

I'd like to discuss a little misunderstanding involving one of our glamping guests.

Apparently, a gentleman staying in one of our tents left his gate open.

Naturally, I took that as an invitation.

Being the dedicated hospitality professional that I am, I decided to make a personal visit.

And since he was already in bed, I climbed right in beside him.

Here's where things got interesting.

HE THOUGHT I WAS HIS WIFE COMING BACK FROM THE BATHROOM.

Now, I don't know what kind of accommodations these people are accustomed to, but around here we take guest service very seriously.

Lesa says I have absolutely no business getting into bed with the guests.

I disagree.

You can't put a price on that kind of personal attention.

I'M SIX YEARS OLD AND STILL HAVE TO ASK SOMEONE TO OPEN THE DOOR.

Rona here.

Every morning, before the humans have even had their coffee, I have important business to attend to.

OUTSIDE. NOW.

Unfortunately, sometimes it's raining.

I don't do rain.

So naturally, I come right back in.

Then I remember I have important business outside.

OUTSIDE. AGAIN.

Apparently, this is where the attitude starts.

“Rona! You JUST came in!”

And?

What's your point?

I've been running this place for six years, and these people still haven't figured out their job description.

I'm management. They're the door staff.

Honestly, I don't know how this place stays in business.

🐾 RONA REPORTS | EPISODE 1

I ARRIVED WITH NO RESERVATION—THEN TOOK OVER THE ENTIRE PROPERTY!

On March 11, 2020, the world learned we were facing a pandemic.

That same day, I showed up at The Cabins at Copperhill.

I was a tiny, abandoned puppy with no reservation, no luggage, and absolutely no intention of leaving.

The humans decided I could stay, but there was one condition.

They named me CORONA. Seriously?! 🙄

Thankfully, they shortened it to Rona.

Six years later, I'm still here, supervising the property, managing the humans, and generally keeping this whole operation running.

They may own the place, but we all know who's really in charge. 🐾

🍂 The Great Oak Leaf Battle of 2026 🍁

There are two sides to fall in the mountains.

The side where you sit back, sip your coffee, admire the beautiful colors, and watch the leaves gently drift to the ground.

And then there's OUR side. 😂

When you have over 100 old oak trees scattered across your property, those beautiful falling leaves become your greatest nemesis.

You blow them. You rake them. You haul them away. You turn around… and there's another thousand lying right where you just cleaned.

And the oak trees? They aren't even close to finished. They're just getting warmed up.

It's a battle we fight every single fall, and one we have absolutely no chance of winning until the last stubborn oak leaf finally lets go.

But here's the funny thing. We wouldn't trade those old trees for anything. They've been standing on this mountain a lot longer than we have, and they'll probably still be dropping leaves long after we're gone.

So we'll keep chasing them, grumbling a little, laughing a little, and reminding ourselves that all this beauty comes with a price.

And apparently, that price is a leaf blower that never gets a day off. 😂🍂

People sometimes tell us "you are living the dream" and "how wonderful it must be to own a little mountain getaway".

And it is.

But I suspect they're picturing us sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee, watching the sun rise over the mountains.

They're probably not picturing us wondering which water line is leaking, what broke overnight, or why something that worked perfectly yesterday has suddenly decided to quit.

There are beautiful moments here. And there are days that test every bit of patience we've got.

I wouldn't want to pretend otherwise.
