While we wait for the solar eclipse in April (sorry, family has claimed all our rooms), we are finding much to do here. The Town of Cornwall is training us to track wildlife, documenting the movement of mammals across the land. And in Middlebury the Town Hall Theater is busy with plays, film and a reno. What a beautiful Vermont autumn, after a lush, colorful (wet and buggy) summer! The B&B will be on hiatus over the next few months as we head into winter; not taking reservations till April 2024. We had a successful season, offering two downstairs rooms to travelers from all over the US. And we had several family reunions fill the house with laughter and meaning....

Beautiful early summer days in Vermont. Start the day with a perfect breakfast, hike the Moosalamoo Nat'l Rec Area trails, then visit nearby Blueberry Hill for music, a beer, and wood fired pizza. That's what the innkeepers did today!

Need to dream? Book a Green Mountain getaway for later this summer. We are 4.5 hours from New York City and 3.5 hours from Boston. Come pick fall raspberries, dip in a mountain stream, eat fresh and foraged food, and collect Vermont craft brews and cider to bring home. In the 1980's I explored the Lake District in England. We'd stop at the village post office and call from a list of B&Bs or Guest Houses to find a room....
