Summer doesn’t have to be expensive to be memorable.

This morning, many families across Cocke County are assessing damage, cleaning up, making phone calls, and figuring out what comes next.

After everything our community has already endured, it’s hard to see neighbors facing another round of flooding and recovery.

We’re grateful for the first responders, road crews, volunteers, and community members who continue to show up when they’re needed most.

Thinking of everyone affected and hoping for safer, easier days ahead. ❤️

Not all the locals around Foothills Farm walk on two legs. 🥹

Ran across this little turkey parade yesterday and honestly… they looked like they had somewhere important to be.

One thing about East Tennessee? There’s always something unexpected wandering around the corner. Wildflowers, fireflies, creek days… and apparently baby turkeys on a mission.

Can we all agree the economy is rude right now? 😂

Groceries cost a fortune.
Kids eat like competitive athletes.
Everything somehow requires a registration fee, matching shirt, or “just one more thing” from Amazon.

BUT… the mountains are still out here giving away the good stuff for free. 🤍

Right now we’re in the middle of synchronized firefly season — literally one of the coolest natural light shows in the country — and Mother Nature is just casually putting it on every night like:
“Here ya go.”

Add in:
• swimming holes
• creek days
• mountain sunsets
• trails with hidden waterfalls
• wildflowers everywhere
• kids finding rocks and sticks they suddenly believe are priceless treasures

And suddenly you realize maybe the best summer memories don’t actually require expensive tickets and packed itineraries.

Sometimes it’s just a cabin porch, tired happy kids, and lightning bugs blinking in the trees.

Yes. You can still afford the mountains. 🌿✨

This weekend, Foothills Farm was full of life.

There were wedding vows under the lights.
Prom pictures by the creek.
Laughter echoing across the property.
High heels kicked off before the night was over.
Families gathered around tables.
Friends making memories they’ll talk about for years.

And today?

The chairs are straightened.
The music is gone.
The creek is the loudest thing here again.

It’s quiet in that deep, exhale kind of way.

One of our favorite things about this place is getting to witness both sides of it — the joyful chaos and the peaceful stillness afterward.

This weekend was beautiful.
Today is too… just in a different way.
