I have the best friends and hunting buddies in the world, but nothing compares to hunting with your kids. Got to take Josie out opening morning for a beautiful hunt with zero intension of me getting a bird and after a text book hunt with over the top gobbling all morning and two long beards coming in strutting all the way to the decoys she made a great shot and filled her tag and offered to let me shoot her youth 20 ga and I shot my first turkey in several years and punched my tag and we got the ultimate Daddy/Daughter double on opening morning. The memory of this morning hunt with her will be with us forever. Nothing like sharing the outdoors with your kids.

2022 was another great year in the outdoors, we were once again blessed with the best clients and friends in the industry. We finished up our last guided hunt for the year on Dec 20th and you know what my family did with our break? We spent more time in the outdoors hunting together making more priceless memories. We love our clients and what we do so much we did more of the same thing on our time. Josie was able to harvest a great mature deer with a crossbow with Papa and Nana in the blind with her sharing the memories and after long season of cooking and feeding cattle Katie was able to shoot a great 8 with her bow. Josie Jo learned how to clean quail and made her Pawpaw quite proud with her quail cleaning abilities and she donated some of her deer meat to fry up with the quail for a great New Years treat with family and friends. If you need some quail cleaned Josie and Memaw make a great team.
Thank you once again to all of our amazing clients who trust us with your outdoor adventures and to entertain and guide your clients and family that are special to you. Looking forward to an amazing 2023!

Gotta love the chase, big mature whitetails that have no pattern other than being nocturnal. Flirting with a hint of the edge of daylight a couple times in last month. You don’t kill these kind deer without some dedication and many hrs and days committed to hunting them every time conditions are right and being obedient to stay out when they aren’t. Chad was committed and was down to last minutes of his last set to get to hunt this deer and after HOURS and DAYS it came down to that magical 30 seconds we dream of in the outdoors. Unfortunately we bumped him tracking in the dark and had to back out and wait for morning and the yotes beat us to him but after a long dedicated hunt a long sleepless night patience and perseverance paid off. Congrats on a buck of a lifetime 175 3/8”

Our hunting business has blessed us in so many ways over the last 35 yrs. I always say you’re only a client once and when you return we’re friends. Many of my closest friends have come through here and not only become great friends to me and my family but fell in love with our community and the people in it. When we have had people fall on tough times or had wildfires and done benefit hunt auctions my friends have stepped up for the people in our community and gave way more than what the hunt would have cost them to just buy. When one of them says “Your people are my people let’s help them out” that make me PROUD to have the best clients turned friends anywhere around.
Chad Hefty found out that one of our guides brother, Eric Coogle, had been in a wheel chair his entire life and Chads dad was a quadriplegic so in memory of his Dad he blessed Eric with a new track chair today. When you see two of your great friends, Chad and Eric, meet for the first time today and the smiles they both had it sure can choke up a grown man up.
Eric and I went to school at Crawford and Cheyenne together and been life long friends and Chad hunted with us first 8 yrs ago and been a great friend to not only me but my entire family and crew here at CRH. This is the 5th track chair Chad has blessed someone with in memory of his dad and he didn’t know any of the recipients prior to them getting their chairs. People with hearts like this are rare as unicorns and I’m blessed to call both these guys GREAT FRIENDS.
