How many of you know about the "Not So Secret" The Chart Room Bar, at 1 Duval Street in Key West.....
So many beginnings here!
🦜This was where Jimmy ultimately ended up after his first well-known road trip to Key West with Jerry Jeff Walker.
🦜This was also where he met his wife Jane while she was in town for spring break.
🦜Phil Clark was a bartender here and Jimmy wrote “A Pirate Looks at 40” about him.
Another interesting fact: the ashes of the dead are in the bar! Holes are drilled, ashes carefully scooped in, corked, sealed and a plaque honoring them is added. The most famous of those interred is Mel Fisher.
Today, it remains one of the most awesome little places in Key West! If you can find it 🍺🍿🥜🌭 Opens at 5p. Hint: The Pier House
