😂😂 Okay, now this is turning into a full-blown Lochloosa Pool Party: Wildlife Edition.

🐸 UPDATE: Apparently the pool party wasn’t over… 😂

After safely relocating Hilda’s little hitchhiker, I went back out to remove Susie the Skimmer from the pool.

And would you look at that.

SUSIE HAD A PASSENGER TOO. 🐸😂

Same frog? Maybe. Maybe not. 🤷‍♀️
But he had the exact same relaxed attitude about the whole situation. Once again, I had to physically pick up our tiny guest because apparently checkout time means absolutely nothing to the frogs at Lochloosa.

I carried him over and set him safely in the grass.

Mission accomplished.

I turned around…

AND THERE WAS A CRAYFISH SWIMMING ACROSS THE POOL. 🦞🤣

At this point, I have questions.

Is there an event happening here that I don’t know about?
Did somebody put Lochloosa on an amphibian travel site?
And most importantly…

WHO IS HANDLING THESE RESERVATIONS?! 😂

Hilda gave the first ride.
Susie gave the second.
The crayfish apparently arrived by water.

Meanwhile, I’m just trying to care for the pool. 🤦‍♀️😂

🐸 Just another day at Lochloosa…

Went out to pull Hilda the pool vacuum out of the water and discovered she had picked up a passenger. 😂

This little frog was happily riding along near the handle and apparently had absolutely no intention of getting off. I pulled Hilda all the way out of the pool…and he just sat there. 🐸

Meanwhile, his buddy—who I’m pretty sure is a toad—went hopping across the pool deck in front of me and made a run for the hot tub, where he tucked himself underneath the outside edge. Clearly, there was some sort of amphibian pool party happening that I was not invited to. 😂

I finally picked up Hilda’s little passenger, who was perfectly content sitting in my hand. In fact, I had to coax him out of my hand and into the grass. Apparently he was enjoying the accommodations. 🤎

And before anyone worries…

Susie the Skimmer did NOT eat anybody. 😂
Both little visitors are safe and accounted for.

Just another peaceful Sunday at Lochloosa River Retreat, where apparently everyone wants one last pool day before fall. 🍂🐸💦

🍂 Only 4 Lochloosa weekends remain this fall season! 🍂

Feeling adventurous? Our pool is still open for now, weather permitting. Warm up in the hot tub, cool off with a dip in the saltwater pool, then hop back into those bubbles. We tried it this evening and it was exhilarating! 💦

🦅 The river has been especially active lately, with bald eagles and ospreys keeping us entertained right in front of the property. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, but it’s been quite a show!
