Finally "ADDED" to the movie scene mural.
First, I know it's been a while but we are still kicking here at the Broken Fiddle and I went dark for a bit for the sake of my sanity.
Second, the Caddyshack portion had to take the backseat for a little while. Laying down on that brick takes a toll on my body but don't you worry... I'll have it complete soon enough.
Third, I started on the Boondock Saints portion and worked diligently to complete it before I set off on my much needed time off.
How it started to how it finished. I gathered a few pics from others to show some of the process.
The tradition remains that once I finish a portion we throw a themed party to go along with the movie. We had some arrivals as I prepared the Irish stew in the crock pot. You on know me, the adult beverage of choice was the Irish car bombs and Jameson on the side. I even got some of the patrons that never had one join in with me. After that it was all Saints on the projector. What a great time and I hope you like the addition. Until the next.

We were blessed to have had a visit from the teen camp from Northern Virginia called Teen Adventure.
This group led by not one but two Triple Crowners Freight Train and Day Tripper.
No phones, service work and great camaraderie. That's what this group was about. It was a breath of fresh air.
They did some service around the hostel and around the fire was songs abound.
It was quite the pleasure to have them swing thru and stay at their very first hostel. They are welcome back anytime and who knows... We could've roped in a few new attempting thru hikers down the road.

Skipping right past Trail Days ...
Unfortunately the Fiddle phone had damn near turned into a flip phone so the photos didn't quite make it thru.
If you have any feel free to send them my way.
But ....
Critter and Phoenix has been helping around post trail days and decided to make HOME MADE Pierogi's.
Who would say no to that?
Miss Dips and Ken brought me and Double Wide a.taste of Pittsburgh (Primanti's) and here I am being blessed with pierogi's. What a life!

New Edition to the Broken Fiddle Crew this year.
After four years Double Wide shown he was capable and willing to help a brotha out. Just in time I'd say. With the festival around the corner and all the other Crew decided go and do something really weird and "adult". Can't blame them though. For now I got Double Wide.

I know, I know... It's an AT hostel but I'll tell ya one thing ... When random travelers show it's hard to not mention.
There are just around 40 ppl in this world who completed the CT and when they randomly show up at my spot ya have to make notice. This couple is number 32 and number 33 to complete the Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddling Trail (CT). Obviously I was giddy enough to share my Jameson. I've only had one other come thru in a random surprise but these two were a highlight of the evening. So here is to the 32 and 33. So happy to have met ya.

The Appalachian Trail Hostels and are collaborating this year along the trail. Not all hostels but the lucky few. If you have hiked north from Springer this far you may have already heard about this application. If not, here's a tid bit right here.
The recipient of the first gifted night at the Broken Fiddle couldn't have gone to a well deserving hiker. This is Cous Cous. He blasted into Damascus with a 42 mile day from Watauga Lake. A younger gent that is on quiet a budget journey we were happy to share the knowledge of this journey tracking app.
The bandanas and hiker gifts are starting to get out there among the northern "earlier" hikers.
We are happy to be a partner in sharing this exciting app. Along your journey you share what you want and hell even at the end they are able to compile a very well put together coffee table book of photos and excerpts. These books are top notch quality! Best of luck hikers and we will see ya out there.
