Introducing The Cardinal Music Hall in Damascus, VA!

We’re Scott Little and Ben Earp, friends and lifelong music lovers. Scott toured for years in a rock band and has dreamed of opening a music venue for over half his life. Ben is a hobby musician, photographer, and community music advocate. Together, we wanted to create a space where artists feel welcomed, audiences feel connected, and music can be experienced up close.

We’re excited to finally share what we’ve been working on. The Cardinal Music Hall is a new live music venue in downtown Damascus, VA, housed in the historic former Damascus Presbyterian Church. Our goal is simple: to bring intimate, live performances to the community we love.

Cardinal Music Hall is an independent, unaffiliated business that leases the listening room portion of the building from The Sanctuary, a program of Hands and Feet Ministry. The space is the future home of a residential program supporting mothers finishing treatment for substance misuse, and a portion of ticket sales from each show will be donated to support this ministry.

The Appalachian Trail will look a little bit different this year, as our region continues the cleanup from 2024's devastating Hurricane Helene. Certain portions of the trail have been rerouted to make way for the rebuilding of the famous Virginia Creeper Trail.

For most hikers, it won't be too disruptive, as there are multiple trail heads to access the Mount Rogers high country. The 2026 class of AT through-hikers will get to experience a bit of time travel, as they are rerouted to the ~original~ Appalachian Trail, now known as the Iron Mountain Trail.
