And meanwhile, in the background, I’m working on backgrounds! Sorry, couldn’t resist the pun. 😂

This is what I’ve been working on. A Mahi-Mahi. How do you like him?

Update:
So, I realized that I grabbed the wrong jar of crushed glass - the powder. It is so much lighter before firing, and turns dark in the kiln.
Not the look I wanted! But, it’s an interesting piece of glass. So I’ll keep it and use it for something else later. For now, back to experimenting..

True!

Still experimenting with background techniques. Making it up as I go! 🤣🤦‍♀️

Just pulled the Dragonflies out of the kiln. Very happy with them! See more of my glass art at Island Fire glass gallery on DIP, and at the new Bienville Bar & Grill, here on Dauphin Island.

The Dragonflies are in the kiln and won’t be finished until tomorrow. So in the meantime, I’m working on a Mahi-Mahi. I’m using glass enamel paint. It takes multiple kiln firings to build up layers of color. Hoping it gives me the depth that I want.
