Nora officially approves the amazing view from our newest 2-bed cabin overlooking Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge. The 2-bed deluxe cabins are larger than our current 2-bed and will have a 2nd bathroom to accommodate couples that may travel together or small to medium size families.

Nora would also like to remind everyone that we are pet friendly and very much enjoy our four-legged guest!

This will be your view from the front porch of our new 3 bedroom cabin once completed. 25 feet from the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge...deer, bears, eagles, etc all right there.

Walk off your porch to grab a handfull of wild blueberries for your pancakes. Absolutely breathtaking.

A couple evenings ago a very unique weather pattern developed over Dolly Sods up to Mount Storm and around the northern end of Canaan Valley. A cloud inversion started to take shape in the correctly named Mt Storm area and slowly crept south on the high mountains down to the Sods plateau.

The cloud formed over the mountains while the rest of the sky remained relatively cloud free (check the blue skies in the pictures). It then raced down the valleys around Timberline Timberline Mountain before dissipating on the valley floor. I have witnessed this event one other time in five years of being around the valley but to see it happening at sunset with the sun fully beaming off of it was spectacular.

And so it begins....construction on Phase 2 at Valley View Cabin Resort - Canaan Valley is beginning to reshape the resort as this beautiful spring weather continues.

Nine additional cabins including a 3-bedroom, a fully accessible ADA 2bed, three 2-bed deluxe cabins with two bathrooms and four additional 1-bed. Currently the plan is to have all cabins completed and ready by this upcoming ski season. This will grow the resort to 20 total cabins with more planned in future expansions.

After one year in business it feels great to be expanding. The resort is located in an awesome spot situated on the edge of Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge and the Mon Forest. Only three miles to three ski resorts and access to hundreds of miles of hiking trails. We are the center of Adventure in the high mountains of West Virginia!
