Mother Nature fooled us!! Temperatures of 70 & 80's were wornderful but....Oklahoma's quickly changing weather brought back overnight freezing temperatures. It is not as bad as our reminder of February 2011.

Guests are getting spring fever!! Come and enjoy the 3 miles of walking trails or bring your fishing pole and try your luck at the 4-5 pound bass!! Mountain biking will also be a fun activity before summer heat begs for swimming. Bring your mountain bike or road bike for tour routes.

Happy New Year! A busy and fun time was had by all when Wild Horse Creek Hunting had their guests stay at Pecan Valley Inn Bed and Breakfast. Horse Creek Hunting guests to Pecan Valley Inn Bed and Breakfast saw three whitetail deer and then a buck jump the fence and run into the trees on the other side of the road. Just a little further down the road, another doe and her fawns were running acout the road. Crisp fall weather gets the deer moving and the hunters eagerly awaiting the hunting season.

Beautiful weather over Labor Day weekend but I'm still praying for rain. We are thinking about the coming fall weather as are hunters. We are again providing meals and lodging for Wid Horse Creek Hunting; not having to rough it and bunk with 5 other men is appealing. Wives are especially welcome at www.pecanvalleyinn.com

July started of with rain for about 2 weeks; really helped the yard. Now it is hot even though it has not reached 100 but the humity raised the heat index. Reservations have been fairly good; had 3 couples last night and two couples tonight.
Turner Falls seems to be a great place to cool off as is Chickasaw National Recreation Area (used to be Platt National Park). See our newest mother and her trials and tdibulations in the video.

The flowers have spectacular during May. The Magnolia tree and the day lilies are now in bloom; I'll have to get busy and get pictures of those as the crepe myrtiles will be blooming in July. The cows, cat and myself have enjoyed the beauty; the guests have seen a varitey depending on the week they are here.

This historic tree was planted in 1898 when Dr. Howell built the house in Indian Territory. It was with great reluctance that the tree was cut back to make a chain saw carved statute (similar to some in Norman, OK. The tree is trying so hard to live that guests, animals, butterflies and I enjoy the tree. It may have a reprieve as most of the growth is away from the house ( I was advised by state arborist to cut it to avoid it falling on house in some of Oklahoma wind storms!!).
