I was throwing out a box when one of my old calendars fell out.
I picked it up. And that one small moment saved ten love songs.
Back in 2004, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, I wrote poems in my Garden Flowers & Poems calendar — poems about love, longing, morning light, and the person I was dreaming of. Then life moved on, the years passed, and those poems sat quietly for over twenty years.
Until the day I was clearing out a box, the calendar fell out, and I picked it up instead of letting it go.
I decided those words deserved to be heard. So I turned each poem into a song. And now, twenty-two years after I wrote them, they are sung at last — joined by two more love songs that belong beside them.
