Somewhere along the way, we stopped asking the most important question.
Not: "How was it raised?"
Not: "What did it eat?"
Not: "Who raised it?"

Just: "How much does it cost?"

We're not saying price doesn't matter.
We're saying the story behind your food matters too.

Because the person raising it, the land it came from, and the way it was cared for all have a direct impact on what ends up on your family's plate.

At Foodstead, we think knowing your rancher should be normal.

If you've ever wondered where your beef comes from, check us out.
- Regeneratively raised grass fed & finished beef
- Our beef is raised using the principles and practices of regenerative agriculture.
- No added hormones at any stage for our animals. They are naturally raised which takes longer than the rest but it’s better that way.
- We Ship to the Lower 48

And if you'd like to learn more about how we raise our cattle, join our newsletter and follow along with life on the ranch.

"Our beef isn't just grass-fed—it’s forage-fed on a living salad bar. 🌿🥩

Most 'grass-fed' cattle graze on single-species monocultures. We do things differently. Our pastures are a rich tapestry of clovers, native grasses, and medicinal herbs like chicory, plantain, yarrow, cornsalads and wild geraniums.

Why does variety matter for you?

Superior Flavor: Just like w**e has terroir, variety in forage creates a complex, savory depth of flavor you won’t find in grocery store beef.

Nutrient Density: Diverse plants pull a wider range of minerals from the soil, packing every cut with higher levels of Omega-3s, antioxidants and consistently higher in B vitamins.

Natural Health: These herbs act as a 'natural pharmacy' for our herd, ensuring healthy, happy cattle without the need for synthetic additives.

Better for the land. Better for the label. Better for your table."

A single pound of grocery store beef can contain DNA from approximately 360 to over 1,000 different cows. Ours contains 1. You know what you are getting when you buy local. Comment "local beef" to get on our waitlist.

No Chemicals : Just nature that literally works for the cows.

1. Cleaner, "Chemical-Free" Meat
Because we aren't using synthetic fertilizers or herbicides to grow the forage, there is zero risk of chemical residue in the meat. You get a truly natural product that was raised on sunshine, rain, and healthy plants rather than petroleum-based inputs.

2. Superior Nutrient Density
A "diverse buffet" of forage (peas for protein, buckwheat for minerals) creates a more complex diet for the cattle than a single-grass pasture.
More Omega-3s: A wider variety of broadleaf plants in the diet is linked to higher levels of heart-healthy fats in the beef.
Higher Mineral Content: Since buckwheat "unlocks" phosphorus and other soil minerals, the cattle ingest those nutrients, which eventually end up in the beef.

3. Better Flavor Profile
Chefs and foodies often prefer beef from "biodiverse" pastures. Just like w**e has terroir, beef takes on the flavor of the environment. A field enriched by peas and buckwheat produces a richer, more complex flavor compared to cattle raised on a "monoculture" (just one type of grass) boosted by chemicals.

4. Supporting "Regenerative" Ethics
Aren't we all increasingly looking for Regenerative Agriculture labels in the age of solar farms and data centers? By using these plants, we're building soil instead of depleting it. Buying regenerative ag beef allows you to vote with your dollar for a food system that:
>Sequesters carbon in the ground.
>Protects local water sources from fertilizer runoff.
>Supports honeybees and pollinators (who love buckwheat flowers!)

Nature’s Multivitamin 🌿🥩

Ever wonder why the color of your steak matters?

When cattle spend their lives grazing on lush, green pastures like these, they aren’t just living their best lives—they’re becoming a powerhouse of nutrition for you.

Why Grass-Fed?

• Heart-Healthy Fats: Grass-fed beef is packed with up to five times as much Omega-3 fatty acids as grain-fed alternatives.

• Vitamin Boost: It’s loaded with more Antioxidants, Vitamin E, and Vitamin A.

• The CLA Factor: It contains significantly higher levels of Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), a healthy fat known for supporting metabolic health.

Real food starts with real soil and happy cows. You can taste the difference, and your body can feel it.

What’s your favorite way to sear a grass-fed ribeye?
