A sandcastle may look harmless, but left on the beach overnight, it can become a dangerous obstacle for sea turtle hatchlings. 🐢🌊
As hatchlings emerge from their nests, they instinctively crawl toward the brightest horizon—whixlch we hope is the ocean, and not towards artificial lighting.
Sandcastles, holes, chairs, toys, and other beach items can block their path, trap them, or cause them to waste precious energy before reaching the water.
Before you leave the beach, fill in holes, knock down your beautiful sandcastles, and take everything with you.
Help give our nesting sea turtles & hatchlings a clear path to the sea. 💙
