Some places are made for doing something. The Cozy Cove is made for doing almost nothing at all.

And for Harvest Season 2026, our first space has officially transformed.

The Cozy Cove is dressed for fall with warm plaids, autumn color and the glow of the little fire. It’s ready for those quiet parts of the day that often become the best ones.

Bring your coffee out on a cool morning and ease into the day. Spend an afternoon in the shade with a book, watching the sunlight move through the trees and the leaves begin to change. Come back after dark with a drink and enjoy an easier alternative to building a full fire at your cabin.

And when the Poconos gives us one of those rainy or drizzly days, the metal roof makes it even better. Sit underneath it, wrap in one of our blankets, stay warm by the fire and listen to the rain overhead.

No schedule. No activity required.

Just another intentionally cozy space at Babbling Brook Cottages for our guests to relax and enjoy doing absolutely nothing for a little while.

Sometimes you just have to go see how the waterfalls are flowing. I took a quick hike over to George W. Childs Park today to check on Deer Leap Falls.

One of the things we love most about living here is having places like this just a minute from Babbling Brook Cottages.

Our final Christmas 2026 theme goes back to where it all began.

These photos are from December 2020, our first Christmas in Bear Claw. We have definitely come a long way since then, but there is a reason this look has stayed with us and became the inspiration for this years theme.

Red and black plaid. Evergreens. Warm wood. Cozy vibes. A glowing Christmas tree and that unmistakable cabin feeling.

It’s that classic Christmas cabin look you’ve seen in pictures and always wanted to experience together.

That’s how guests have described Snugglers Notch, and on a bright summer morning, it’s easy to understand why.

Windows wrap around the bedroom, looking directly into the forest. From bed, there are trees in nearly every direction — sunlight coming through the leaves, birds outside the windows, and that feeling of being tucked quietly into the woods.

Why do we post about cabin stays months ahead of time?

Because our guests plan ahead, and so do we. Babbling Brook Cottages is a year-round retreat, and every season brings its own reason to be here. Autumn in the woods, Christmas in the cabins, quiet winter days, waterfalls in spring, and long summer evenings.

Throughout the year, stays book many weeks and often months in advance. For many of our guests, the date matters too. Special dates come around at the same time each year, and they already know where they’d like to spend them.

Sometimes it is a return to a favorite cabin. Sometimes it is the place they have been talking about coming back to. And sometimes, planning ahead gives you just enough time to plant the seed that a Babbling Brook stay is the perfect gift for a birthday, anniversary, or holiday. 😉

So when you see us talking about a season that has not arrived yet, we are not trying to rush you past today. We are simply talking about it while there is still time to plan for it and while there are still openings.

Because around here, there really is not a “best” time to stay.

We show you and talk about upcoming seasons at Babbling Brook months ahead because for our guests, this is not simply a place to sleep. It is the destination to plan for.

As summer 2026 comes to a close, the woods are still green, the flowers are still blooming, and there are a few long afternoons left to simply sit and enjoy it.

The first hints of autumn are beginning to show. But for now, we’re holding onto these last quiet days of summer at Babbling Brook Cottages.

What do we do for a living?

Humbly… laundry. And toilets. 😂😂😂🙄

Today is a full turnover of all five cabins.

Two completely full golf carts of sheets, towels, blankets, quilts and everything else that comes off five cabins… plus another golf cart of trash.

I’m on laundry duty.

Lamar is in the cabins cleaning kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms, scrubbing toilets and showers, vacuuming, dusting, and getting everything ready for me to come back through.

Then I remake every bed and put all the fresh linens, towels, quilts and everything else back in place for the next guests.

And then there’s the laundry.

Today is pulling it all out and getting the first loads started. But once the cabins are remade, the laundry keeps going.

All day today.

Tomorrow.

The next day.

And probably the day after that.

Because when five cabins turn over at once, the laundry doesn’t end when the cabins are ready. It just keeps quietly working its way through the machines until every last sheet, towel, blanket and quilt is clean, dry, folded and ready to do it all over again.

There are prettier parts of owning Babbling Brook Cottages.

But this is a very real part of it.

We’re the ones doing the cleaning, the laundry, the resetting and all the little things between one guest leaving and the next arriving.

So, what do we do for a living?

Today?

Mostly laundry and toilets. 😂

Happy National Dog Day to the one who has been part of Babbling Brook Cottages from nearly the very beginning.

Our beloved Stella — Chief Barking Officer, Head of Security, woodland supervisor, and constant companion.

She’s watched guests come and go, kept a careful eye on the property, accompanied us through countless cabin projects, and made sure absolutely nothing happens around here without her and us knowing about it.

Fourteen little moments from a life woven into ours and into Babbling Brook Cottages.
