I honestly don’t know how more people aren’t flocking here to see the Tamarack trees turn into a sea of liquid gold!
My favorite part? Walking out across the lake bed and watching the kids play in the mud while the crisp mountain air settles in. It’s quiet, peaceful, and pure autumn perfection.

There’s something about these last few weeks of summer that I love. The days are still warm enough for lake swims and afternoons in the sun, but the mornings are getting cooler, the evenings are a little crisper, and you can feel fall starting to sneak in.

Fall is personally my favorite season—but I love this little window when you get the best of both. Lake days followed by sweatshirts, hot tubs, campfires, and cool mountain evenings.

Summer isn’t over quite yet. We’re soaking up every last bit of it at The Lazy Hound Lodge before the leaves start to change. 🐾🏡

If you don’t like the weather in Idaho, just wait five minutes. 😅⛰️⛈️ We had the ultimate taste of “Moody Mountain Weather” this week. Mornings were absolutely pristine—perfect for fishing off the rocks and cooling off in the clear water. But by the afternoon? The clouds rolled in, the wind picked up, and we got treated to a full-on downpour and hail storm! Honestly, there’s nothing quite like watching a wild storm roll over the lake while safe and cozy inside the cabin with a fire going. 🔥🌧️
