Cooler weather & significant rain beginning yesterday (9/10) continuing sporadically throughout the night seems to have significantly moderated fire activity 👏! We do have some pretty strong winds, but things are looking much better!

Latest update for today, Wednesday. Smoke continued to be intermittently heavy as winds flow in & out of the valley. Clear now with surrounding mountain peaks clearly visible. Wouldn’t know there was a fire.

Today was a day of great sadness as our wonderful "Blaine" was laid to rest. He was the glue for so many aspects of our ranch. From horse riding as head wrangler in our early days of ranching to winter snow plowing to keep our road open. It's been many years since we ended that phase and Blaine retired with his amazing wife Nancy, to their dream property in Lander Wyoming. He was lauded by all as the epitome of the the American Cowboy. Tall, over six feet, quite in speech, and with few words wasted when he did speak. One learned to listened when he did speak. Kind with all he encountered, be it animal or human. All in all, what we should all try to aspire to be. He is missed and was loved
