The people who keep Dubois running should have a fair chance to live here.
Our teachers, first responders, tradespeople, hospitality workers, young families, and seniors all feel the strain when suitable housing is difficult to find. This is not a problem Town Hall can solve with slogans, and I do not believe the town should become a developer or landlord.
I support practical, long-term solutions. As mayor, I will bring together residents, employers, and local experts on a housing task force. We will review zoning and permitting rules, identify unnecessary barriers, and I will present those barriers to the Town Council so they can be addressed through an open, public process.
I will also support responsible private and nonprofit efforts, including employer-assisted housing and manufactured homes.
Any solution must fit the size and character of Dubois, respect taxpayers, and help the people who live and work here.
Housing affects our businesses, emergency services, schools, families, and future. Let’s work together on solutions that are realistic, affordable, and right for our town.

Happy autumn everyone!
If anyone wants some giant sunflower, blanket flower (galardia) cosmos, marigold, and a couple other seeds to plant next spring stop on by the Black Bear Inn we’ve got lots! They all seed themselves easily and are super easy to grow.
We had a guest stay here this summer who asked “What’s the deal with sunflowers in Dubois? I see them everywhere.!” It made me so happy! Sunflowers are so amazing.🌻
