We are currently under a SET (Level 2) pre evacuation notice in the Valley.

All residents south of Hermosa Creek and west of 550.

If you’re staying in the park please download WATCH DUTY app and turn alerts ON.

If changed to GO it is advised to seek shelter at the LPC Fairgrounds.

If you’re in an RV and you’ve been displaced due to the southern floods worse than here -

Yes our lower land sites are flooded. But we have higher ground sites open!

If you’ve been displaced in an RV by worse flooding to the south of us - please give us a call if you need an RV spot.

We’re here to help however we can.

All jokes aside I love what I get to do here Alpen Rose RV Park but this is a new experience.

The Animas River is flooding the valley.

Bring your wading boots and a good attitude and we’ve got a site on higher ground if you need one.

Red Mountain Pass CLOSED

Plan alternate routes around Telluride & Cortez to 160.

No northern traffic past Silverton.

Be safe out there.

🚨 RED MOUNTAIN PASS CLOSED 10-22-26 🚨
Overnight closure: US 550 is closed between Silverton and Ouray (Mile Points 71–92) due to heavy flooding and severe road damage. There’s no estimated reopening time.

Use CO 145 through Telluride as the alternate route. Don’t drive through floodwater or take unpaved shortcuts. Check cotrip.org for updates.

Morning commute.

We’re expecting MORE heavy rains so this morning we what we could to finish up our drainage system improvements.

Ditches have been reclaimed from the gophers, drainpipes have been cleared, and auxiliary pumps are in place….. ☔️
