Hiking in Glacier is a must-do.

Yes, there are big hikes with steep climbs and plenty of exposure, but there are also plenty of easy, scenic trails that make it possible for everyone in your group to get out and enjoy the views.

Hitting the trail in Montana's Glacier National Park is accessible to almost anyone. Hiking in Glacier is where inspiration meets exercise. Don't be shy. We've listed our six favorite easy hikes that are appropriate for all ages, and they all have superb scenery!

Built in 1913 by the Great Northern Railway, this iconic lodge welcomed travelers to the edge of Glacier National Park in grand style. The construction was no small feat. Massive timbers that define the Great Hall were brought in by train, and it took a crew of 75 men over a year and a half to complete the two main buildings.

Since then, thousands of guests have walked through these doors in awe of its scale and craftsmanship and the story is still being written today.

We look forward to welcoming many more when we open back up May 29.

One of the most popular tales says the sure-footed climber landed on the lodge roof during a wild winter storm and fell through. While the true origin remains a mystery, the goat endures as a fitting tribute to the Great Northern Railway’s cloven-footed mascot.
