About Cedar Rest Resort
Over fifty years ago, August and Carolyn Busche purchased the 53 acre resort along Lake Charlevoix as a summer retreat for their five children and grandchildren. Over many years they ran the resort with their grandson, Robert Draves, who now operates the resort along with his wife Pam. Located on one of the most beautiful pieces of property, Cedar Rest Resort has made a special connection with generations of families. These families have been coming to Cedar Rest Resort year after year for summer vacations, family reunions, or special family celebrations.

Surrounded by nature’s beauty, this secluded and peaceful resort gives families a wonderful place to reunite year after year. The seclusion of the resort, ¼ mile from the nearest road, brings a sense of peace and relaxation to our guests. Children are able to run free and explore while parents can relax from the daily pressures of everyday life. To the west of the resort property, guests can marvel at the beauty of the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix and to the northwest relish nature’s beauty of the Charles M. Taylor III Nature Preserve and Ostrom Family Nature Preserve along with a wildlife haven owned by Central Michigan University. Lake Charlevoix
In 2012, Lake Charlevoix was named as runner-up for the most beautiful lake by USA Today. The lake is known for crystal blue waters and shallow ledge outlines the entire lake making it ideal for families. The Lake has multimillion dollar homes, private water planes and some of the largest yachts you’ll ever see.
