The apple trees have bloomed, the lawn is green again, and mornings begin with coffee on the porch overlooking Frenchman Bay.

This is the season of slow afternoons, family games on the lawn, picnics beneath the trees, and evenings by the water.

Camp mornings. Late nights. The kind of laughter that carries through the house.

Bare feet on wood floors. Windows open to the salt air and sweet pine. The feeling of being together, without needing much else.

This cottage was never meant to be ordinary.

Long before curated travel and weekend escapes, this house welcomed guests arriving by boat and carriage. It stood through salt-heavy winters and porch-filled summers. It has watched the tide come and go for over a century.

If you look closely, you can still see it.

In the old transom windows.
In the plaster that has weathered time.
In the floors that have carried generations across them.

When we began caring for this cottage, we didn’t want to erase its age. We wanted to honor it.

To preserve what mattered.
To restore what was tired.
To let the cottage keep its voice.

This isn’t just a place to stay.
It’s a home that has been welcoming people for generations.

And it still does.
