As the Summer approaches (we hope), a quick shout out to the Clergy of the Missionary Diocese of All Saints.

Hope's Repose is a great lakefront vacation option for clergy, their families and parishioners. Super location for mini-retreats as well. Give us a shout!

Christmas is coming to Hope's Repose...this weekend the tree goes up;

December 6 we are hosting a St Nicholas Day Party with a bonfire, mulled wine, lemonade, Hot Chocolate, various German munchies, marshmallows to
toast & St Nicholas Stories & traditions.

Hello FB World - we are gearing up to open for the Season....

We will be painting rooms next weekend (May 6), and checking out what flowers have come up for the Spring.

We do give preference to Clergy and their families as they can rarely afford a cottage right on one of our beautiful Great Lakes, and we are also open to the public. Our rates are ridiculously affordable, and we allow pets.

We also bake goodies for your arrival, and greet you personally.

We do have some bookings for the summer, so if you're interested, get in touch with me soon!

We are very happy to share that Hope's Repose has hosted its first day-long "mini-retreat". Here are some pictures to get a feel for the day...and consider booking us for your retreat - we cater the food!

My husband was a much better photo historian than I; I'll strive to do better...I forgot to take a picture of the lunch spread, and the breakfast casserole. A pic of the casserole will be posted Sunday as the remainder of it will be warmed for Coffee Hour at Church. It is currently waiting patiently in the freezer.

Tomorrow, we host our very first Retreat for a local Vestry.

Food prepared for participants will be:

Breakfast:
Greek Breakfast Casserole
Fruit
Fruit Juice
Coffee
Water

Lunch:
Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes
Chips
Veggie Tray
Water
Soda
Juice
Coffee

Snack:
Pecan Pie Bars

This time I am cooking everything except the fruit tray and the veggie tray.

And my canine mascots will join us. Oops - gave it away. Yes, the Vestry is from my Church, Hope Anglican Chapel. We will take and share photos, and expect to have a great day of learning, working, and eating comforting food.

Open House on January 7 had 15 visitors, and some yummy food. Also two pups who loved meeting everyone, and gifts - pictures of which will be posted when I have the rest of them photographed.

Okay, everyone! Here's the 411:

On Christmas Eve, Hope's Repose will be hosting an Open House, Sign Hanging Celebration AT Hope's Repose (1396 N US 23, East Tawas).

Hours: 1-4

Snacks will be provided along with Mulled Wine and non-alcoholic drinks.

If you haven't visited, please Come and See. If you have...come on back!

AFTER this Open House/Sign Celebration, many of us will be sliding up the road to Hope Anglican Chapel for a Special Mass of Lessons & Carols (219 W River Rd., Oscoda) at 5:00.

Canon Mark's treat upon arrival. Those are mini-apple pies, Irish Cheddar, and Bourbon.

The weekend Renewal session was amazing and exhausting - so much thinking and discussing...and I definitely picked up a sense of Renewed Holy Spirit in all of us.

Next event at Hope's Repose Tawas will be Thanksgiving Dinner with Father Tim and Anna.
