🏖️ Shallow — you can walk out a long way with little kids and never panic

👨‍👩‍👧 Family-easy — the kind of water where toddlers can splash without parents in cardiac arrest

And there are no crowds. None. There's a 16-mile shoreline trail that runs south to Au Gres. There are downtown shops and ice cream within walking distance of the beach.

If you're a parent with young kids and you've been driving 4+ hours to Lake Michigan beaches that are too cold to actually swim in until August — Tawas is your move.
