We've partnered with Box of Maine to bring a great selection of Maine-made and Maine-inspired products to The Hitching Post Country Store right here at the campground.

🎒➡️🏕️ Well... That Was a Short School Week. 😄

School is back this week!

The backpacks are packed.
The lunches are made.
The alarm clocks have been cruelly reactivated.

And just when everyone starts getting used to the routine...

LABOR DAY WEEKEND! 🎉😂

We think easing back into school with a long camping weekend is actually very responsible parenting.

The kids get fresh air.
The grown-ups get a campfire.
Nobody has to pack a school lunch for a few days.

📚 One of Cold River's Best-Kept Secrets

Apparently, we haven't been bragging about this enough.

Guests regularly tell us how much they love our campground library—and we realized we've barely told anyone about it.

And when we say "library," we don't mean six paperbacks sitting on a shelf in the sun. 😄

We have several bookcases filled with books, games, puzzles and movies that our campers can borrow during their stay.

Rainy afternoon? Grab a puzzle.

Quiet morning? Find a book.

Family game night? Go pick one out.

Need something for the kids to do while you enjoy approximately seven minutes of peace? LIBRARY.

It's nothing fancy. It's simply another little part of camping at Cold River that our guests have come to love.

And apparently, we've been keeping it a secret.

So... secret's out. 📚🧩🎲🌲
